Needing to win 2-0 away at Anfield against Liverpool on the last day of the season, Arsenal led 1-0 deep into injury time. Liverpool only needed to hold on a few more minutes to win the title at home.

Enter Michael Thomas. In what will forever be known as the most dramatic league title triumph in the history of English football, Thomas rushed through Liverpool's defence after a collecting a pass from Alan Smith and poked it past Bruce Grobbelaar to make it 2-0.

The final whistle was blown and Arsenal were champions of England.
